Fiber Club* is a community of artists and creative practitioners in the Detroit metro area.
We bring together people of all backgrounds, identities and ages who share one simple thing: curiosity and passion for fiber and textile-based processes.
The First Rule of Fiber Club*:
Everyone Talks About Fiber Club*.
Membership is solely contingent upon a desire to participate and join a community.
Anyone interested in participating is welcome.
We are an inclusive bunch: no forms or fees apply.
Fiber Club* currently meets monthly in Detroit to provide artists with an opportunity to share their work and get feedback, discuss individual and collective ideas, network, and share information about shows, calls for art and related opportunities.
In collaboration with the Shepherd, Fiber Club* has commissioned three new works by Detroit-based fiber artists Camille Ann Brewer, Rachael Cox, and Cal Navin. These pieces are inspired by themes explored in Warp and Weft: Technologies within Textiles, an exhibition curated by Allison Glenn.
Join us for the closing dialogue and artist talk with Brewer, Cox, and Navin in conversation with curators Allison Glenn and Katie Pfohl on May 3, 2025. Together, they’ll delve into the artists’ practices and the broader themes of Warp and Weft. Doors will open at 10:30AM and the conversation will begin at 11AM.
